SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Women's Tennis team responded to a tough start yesterday with a dominating performance in a 7-0 win over McMurry at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium on Friday.
With shortages on both rosters, the scoring was altered to one point per doubles team and one for each of the five singles matches, for a total of seven points.
Neither doubles team dropped a game, winning 6-0 at both lines.
In singles, both junior
Selina Wu (San Gabriel, Calif.) at line one and junior
Gia Posito (Houston) at line five posted the double-bagel victories, carrying over their momentum from number one doubles.
Freshman
Sarah Wooten (Beaumont, Texas) won both of her sets by identical 6-1 scores on court two, while freshman
Isabella Olsson (Sverige, Sweden) won her match at three singles 6-2, 6-1.
The Rattlers head to Kerrville for a pair of matches on Saturday, as they face Howard Payne at noon and Schreiner at 4 p.m.
