2/23/2026 7:49:00 PM

SAN ANTONIO — Due to a late start caused by a frost warning delay, the full 36 holes of day one at the Rattler Invitational couldn't be completed as darkness fell at the Dominion Country Club, with 2-3 holes remaining for the teams.

The No. 15 St. Mary's University Women's Golf team is leading the second round with a three-under par, and currently sits in second place behind No. 2 DBU, which shot a 10-under-par in the morning and is eight-over in the second round for a two-under. The Rattlers are seven shots back on their home course.

Midwestern State is third (+19), No. 6 UT Tyler is fourth (+23) and Texas A&M International (+27) rounds out the top five in the 17-team field.

StMU junior Taylor Wilczek (Anthem, Ariz.) is second on the individual leaderboard at four-under par. She fired a five-under, 67, in the first round, and is one over with two holes remaining in the second round. Her first-round score is one off her career-low of 66, which she's shot three times in her StMU career. Wilczek is five shots off the lead, held by DBU's Ella Cheek (-9).

Freshmen Abbey Anderson (Austin, Texas) and Manon Verret (Toulouse, France) are both on pace for collegiate low rounds. Anderson is in fourth place and even par. She shot a 73 in the morning and is one under with two holes remaining. Anderson recorded the second eagle of her career on the seventh hole during the morning. Verret is two shots behind Anderson and in a three-way tie for fifth place. Verret posted a 77 in the morning but bounced back and is three under par with holes one and two left in her second round. After bogeying her first hole, on three, she birdied four of the next 10 holes to climb to fifth.

Sophomore Sabree Lefebvre (Riverview, Fla.) is one shot back from Verret at three-over. She is even par with holes 17 and 18 remaining. Fellow sophomore Brielle Burns (Houston) is also having a much better round two. She shot a 79 in the morning but is one under with holes 18 and 1 left to conclude her second round.

Sophomore Sophia Perkins (Sydney, Australia) carded a 77 through the first 18 holes and is coming off a birdie on hole 17 to drop her to three over for the second round. She has three holes left in 18, 1 and 2, and is tied for 23rd on the leaderboard.

Sophomore Gladys Taboada (Puebla, Mexico) is competing as an individual and is locked in a nine-way tie for 30th place. Taboada fired a career-low tying 75 in the morning, and is currently six over with holes 16 and 17 left to play in round two.

The Rattlers will remain teamed with golfers from DBU and UT Tyler for the third round, as everyone will play through after concluding round two. Golf will begin at 8:15 on Tuesday morning, barring another frost warning.
