Texas State Invitational • Feb. 2-3
New Braunfels, Texas (Landa Park Golf Course)
•   The St. Mary's Women's Golf team begins the spring portion of the season up the road in New Braunfels for the Texas State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The tournament will be 54 holes and stroke play with a shotgun start both days.
•   The Rattlers are one of three Division II teams in the 15-team field with the remaining 12 coming from the Division I ranks. The teams competing are Creighton, East Texas A&M, Houston Christian, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Loyola-Chicago, Prairie View A&M, Stephen F. Austin, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, host Tarleton State, Texas State, UT-Dallas, UTRGV, and West Texas A&M.
•   St. Mary's is ranked No. 15 in the Scoreboard powered by clipp'd rankings as of Jan. 28. The Rattlers are 35-19-1 with an average of 28.78. The team is ranked third in the region with an adjusted scoring average of 297.7.
•   The Rattlers lineup for the Texas State Invitational will be 1) Brielle Burns, 2) Taylor Wilczek, 3) Sophia Perkins, 4) Abbey Anderson, and 5) Manon Verret, and Sabree Lefebvre will compete as an individual.
•   The four Rattlers to compete in all four tournaments have similar course statistics with all collecting between 95-118 pars and 19-24 birdies. Both Abbey Anderson and Taylor Wilczek have one eagle this season.
•   The weather forecast for New Braunfels calls for cloudy skies both days with temperatures ranging from the 69-72 with swirling winds 12-15 mph. Humidity should be in the 70s.
•   After the conclusion of the fall semester, six Rattlers were named to the Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll, with Brielle Burns recording a perfect 4.00 GPA for the semester. Abbey Anderson, Sabree Lefebvre, Sophia Perkins, Manon Verret and Taylor Wilczek were also named to the team.
•   The Rattlers are ranked No. 15 in the WGCA Poll that was released on Nov. 14. Lone Star Conference foe and defending national champion, DBU rose to second, while UT Tyler is 6th, West Texas A&M 23rd, and Midwestern State is getting votes. Wingate took over the top spot with 490 points.
•   A season ago, Taylor Wilczek received Lone Star Second-Team All-Conference honors. She and Sabree Lefebvre also earned Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll honors.
•   St. Mary's has improved its standing in each tournament during the fall, finishing tied for eighth at the DBU Classic, eighth at the D2 National Preview, fifth at the NCAA Regional Preview and third at the MSU Fall Invite.
