Garrett Brooks (Spring Branch, Texas) hit a two-run home run in the first inning and the Rattlers never trailed, winning 6-3. The home run was the seventh of the year for Brooks, and he scored senior
Jacob Elizondo (San Antonio), who reached earlier in the inning on a single.
Elizondo was 3-for-4 in the game, while senior
Trey Guajardo (San Juan, Texas) continued to swing a hot bat, going 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. The six runs were all scored by different players as all nine in the starting lineup reached base at least once.

Game Two Recap
Miscues in the first inning led to the loss in the nightcap, as Cameron scored two runs on no hits. The first two batters reached via hit by pitch and walk. A wild pitch moved them up 90 feet and they scored on a passed ball and throwing error.
The Rattlers buckled down and only gave up one run on four hits the remainder of the contest but were unable to ever grab the lead.
Brooks was 4-for-4 at the plate, including another home run, this one a solo shot in the seventh for the second run. He drove in the other run, plating Elizondo in the fifth after Elizondo reached on a fielding error and scampered to third on a failed pickoff move by the pitcher. Elizondo, senior
Easton Parrish (La Vernia, Texas) and Guajardo had the other three hits on the evening.
Senior
Javier De Alejandro (San Antonio) dropped to 3-3 on the year. He pitched only 1 2/3 innings, walking five and striking out two. Sophomore
Braeden Brown (Sinton, Texas) pitched 2 1/3 innings in relief, giving up one run on three hits with one walk and three strikeouts and
Brandon Vasquez (Round Rock, Texas) pitched the final two innings. He surrendered one hit, walked one and fanned two.
