SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team improved to 2-0 on the young season with its second-straight shutout, defeating Our Lady of the Lake 7-0 on Friday afternoon.
Each doubles team only dropped one game, as the Rattlers won all three ladder positions by the score of 6-1.
Five of the six Rattlers won in straight sets, including junior
Stela Sifuentes (Eagle Pass, Texas), who only dropped one game at position six, winning 6-0, 6-1. Junior
Alessia Terlizzi (Andria, Italy) needed a third set after dropping the opener 7-5, but she refocused for the 6-2, 1-0 (10-6) victory.
Junior
Gia Posito (Houston) also dropped only one game, while both sophomore
Selina Wu (San Gabriel, Calif.) at number one and senior
Paula Garrote (Cartagena, Spain) at number four lost only two games.
The Rattlers host Louisiana Christian on Saturday at Noon before embarking on a seven-match Spring Break road trip.
