RICHARDSON, Texas — St. Mary's University midfielder
Michelle Ramirez snagged the final Lone Star Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday.
Ramirez, a junior from Helotes, Texas, scored the team's lone goal in the 1-0 win over Lubbock Christian that earned the Rattlers a first-round bye in the Lone Star Tournament. It is the first goal of Ramirez's career, and came in the 18th minute on a header pass from freshman
Addison Miller (San Antonio).
Her score helped lead the Rattlers to their fourth straight win and kept them unbeaten over their final six regular-season matches.
Ramirez is the second Rattler to earn the award this season, joining junior forward
Elena Kossler (Ötztal-Bahnhof, Austria), who won on Oct. 27.
Ramirez and the remainder of the Rattlers are in Denton, Texas, for a quarterfinal matchup against third-seeded Texas Woman's on Monday at 7 p.m.
