SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Men's Soccer team struggled to find its offensive rhythm against DBU on Wednesday night, falling 3-0.
The Patriots (6-6-3, 3-4-2) snapped a six-match unbeaten streak for the Rattlers (3-6-6, 2-5-1) in the series between the two schools, as StMU entered the night 4-0-2 in its last six against DBU.
The Rattlers outshot the Patriots 16-to-12 in the game, but DBU put nine shots on frame, and three into goal, while StMU had seven shots on goal, with two each by freshman

Senior goalkeeper
Adrian Cruz (Spring, Texas) saw the first action of his career, playing the final 22:36 and making one save. Senior
Hagen Kyle (Jupiter, Fla.) also played for the first time this season, spending the final six minutes on the pitch.
For the first time in two seasons, both seniors
Luke Mulkey (Parker, Texas) and
Johnny Thurbin (Lingfield, Surrey, England) came off the pitch during a game. The pair played every minute of the 2024 season and had played all 90 minutes in each of the first 14 games this year.
The biggest match of the season looms for St. Mary's on Saturday at West Texas A&M. The Buffs recorded a scoreless draw at Sul Ross State on Wednesday and are tied with UT Tyler with eight points in sixth place, one point ahead of the Rattlers in the Lone Star Conference standings. The top six advance to the Lone Star Tournament (UT Dallas and Sul Ross State are not eligible for postseason).
