ALPINE, Texas — For the second time this season, the St. Mary's University Women's Tennis team dropped only one game in nine matches, as they swept Sul Ross State 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

The two teams played the Division III format, where each doubles match is scored as one point and the teams play to eight points. The Rattlers also won 9-0 earlier this season against Texas Lutheran where they lost only one game in 15 sets of play.

All three Rattlers (11-7) teams won 8-0 in doubles play, while five of the six in singles won 6-0, 6-0. Junior
Karen Kondo (Tokyo, Japan) won 6-0, 6-1 at line three.
Selina Wu (San Gabriel, Calif.) played line one, while junior
Paula Garrote (Cartagena, Spain) was on court two. Freshman
Janel Ospanova (Karaganda, Kazakhstan), junior
Elisa Rodriguez (Houston) and sophomore
Stela Sifuentes (Eagle Pass, Texas) shut out their opponents on courts four through six, respectively.

The Rattlers remain on the road, playing at Western New Mexico Friday and closing the regular season on Sunday at UT Permian Basin.
