LUBBOCK, Texas — A big sixth inning briefly gave the St. Mary's University Baseball team a lead on Sunday at Lubbock Christian University, but the Chaparrals were able to come back and win 12-10 to complete the season sweep.

The Rattlers (9-13, 7-13 Lone Star Conference) plated eight runs in the sixth inning, tying for the most in a single frame this season, to take an 8-5 lead, but the Chaps (17-7, 17-7 Lone Star) scored three in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 8-8 and scored four in the seventh for a 12-8 lead. StMU added two in the eighth but was unable to get any closer for the 12-10 final.

All nine Rattlers reached base at least once, with seven getting on multiple times. Seniors
Jacob Elizondo (San Antonio) and
Rudy Solis (El Paso, Texas) both tallied three-hit days, while junior
Isaiah Aguilar (Alice, Texas) was 2-for-5 with four RBI.

Brett Brown (Sinton, Texas) each pitched two innings for the Rattlers, while freshman
Matthew Janecek (Houston) worked 2/3 of a frame and took the loss. Freshman
Braeden Brown (Sinton) allowed only two hits and walked one in the final 1 1/3 innings.

The Rattlers return home to host Angelo State for a four-game series beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. The #20 Rams swept Oklahoma Christian in San Angelo over the weekend.
