ODESSA, Texas — For the second time in the series with Texas-Permian Basin, the St. Mary's University Baseball team was run-ruled, losing 15-5 on Sunday in seven innings.

The Rattlers (1-3) scored a pair in the second, one in the third and attempted a comeback rally with two in the seventh but were unable to plate any more in the loss. The Falcons (3-1) scored three in each of the first two innings, five in the third and two each in the fifth and sixth innings.

RJ Galvan (Alice, Texas) had a good day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Both
Brendan Concannon (Flower Mound, Texas) and
Rudy Solis (El Paso, Texas) collected two hits and Concannon scored twice.Â

St. Mary's used five pitchers during the contest, and freshman
Brennan Greer (San Antonio) was given the loss after allowing three runs on three hits. He walked two and struck out another two in one inning.Â

The Rattlers kick off the home portion of the 2024 season on Friday as they host UT Tyler for a four-game series. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. The Patriots split the opening week with Oklahoma Christian, winning the first two before dropping the next two.
