SAN ANTONIO — Despite holding St. Edward's University without a three-pointer, the St. Mary's University couldn't make up the slight deficit in the second half, falling 64-55 on Tuesday night.

Taylor Haggan (Parker, Texas), named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, recorded her third-straight double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, breaking the St. Mary's single-season scoring record by a freshman. Haggan takes over the record from both Erin Griffin (2000-01) and
Gabby Elliott (2022-23), who each scored 365 as first-year players. Haggan has 370 points with one game remaining in her standout season.

Ariah Powell (Detroit, Mich.) led the Rattlers (5-22, 5-16 Lone Star Conference) with 15 points, while junior
Stina Svilberg (Tallinn, Estonia) chipped in 11. Senior
Teanna Huggins (San Antonio) led the club with two steals, three blocked shots and tied for team-high honors with three assists.Â

Both Ainsley Thunell and Mikah Chapman led the Hilltoppers (9-18, 6-15 Lone Star) with 12 points each, while Bailey Featherstone added 11. Lauren Catherman had a team-best six rebounds and Janiah Perkins dished out a game-high seven assists.

The two teams head to Austin for a rematch in the season finale for both clubs on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
