Women's Soccer Works Scoreless Draw With Lubbock Christian

SAN ANTONIO — Despite out-shooting Lubbock Christian 11-to-6, neither team could score as the St. Mary's University Women's Soccer ended in a 0-0 draw with the Lady Chaps on Saturday afternoon.

Both the Rattlers and the Lady Chaps are now 4-3-2 on the year and 2-1-1 in Lone Star Conference play.

StMU also edged LCU 5-to-4 in shots on goal as the nine shots were taken by nine different student-athletes. The Rattlers' defense buckled down in the second half, not allowing a shot after halftime. Senior goalkeeper Rebecca Difronzo (Bari, Italy) tallied her second clean sheet of the season, making four saves.

LCU keeper Kara Murray made five saves, with four coming in the second half.

The Rattlers host the annual Battle of the Saints on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. St. Edward's is 2-5-2 on the year and lost 2-0 to Texas Woman's on Saturday afternoon.
