SAN ANTONIO — With four minutes remaining in the first half, Texas Woman's University scored on a corner kick that curled into the far corner of the net for the lone goal on Saturday afternoon at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
The St. Mary's University (5-5-3, 3-3-2) Women's Soccer team outshot the Pioneers (7-2-3, 3-1-3) 8-to-3 in shots on goal but was unable to find the back of the net. The Rattlers also had eight corners, compared to only two for TWU, which capitalized on their lone corner in the first period.
Juniors
Ana Parra (San Antonio) and
Shelby Paniagua (Cibolo, Texas) came off the bench to combine for five of the team's eight shots on goal.
It is the first time since Sept. 29 and Oct. 2, 2021, the Rattlers have lost back-to-back games in Lone Star Conference play.
StMU makes the long trek to Portales, N.M., on Saturday to face Eastern New Mexico at 1 p.m. (CT)/Noon (MT). The Greyhounds host Angelo State on Sunday at Noon (MT).
