RICHARDSON, Texas – For the second-straight week, the St. Mary's University Women's Soccer team has been awarded the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week award with senior
Juni Ejere being honored on Tuesday.
Â
Ejere, a fifth-year senior from Weatherford, Texas, scored one goal in each of the two victories for the Rattlers last week, helping the Rattlers to a 2-0 start for only the second time in Lone Star Conference history.
Â
She found the back of the net in the 23rd minute for the 1-0 lead over UT Tyler as the Rattlers eventually won 3-1 in the LSC opener for both teams. At Lubbock Christian on Saturday, Ejere scored on a ridiculous kick out of the air from the corner of the box that went over both her and the goalkeeper's heads.Â
Â
This is the fourth weekly award of Ejere's career but the first in 2023. She joins sophomore
Shelby Paniagua (Cibolo, Texas), who earned the honors last week.
Â
The Rattlers face a pair of Lone Star Conference foes St. Edward's and Midwestern State this week.
