•   For the second-straight year and the seventh time in school history, the St. Mary's Women's Tennis team will be hosting the NCAA South Central Regional. This season the Rattlers host Angelo State at 1 p.m. Monday in a rematch of the Lone Star Tournament Championship match.
•   The Rattlers have won two close contests over Angelo State this season, 4-3 in the regular season and 4-2 in the title match of the Lone Star Championship. The team is now 4-1 all-time against the Rambelles. The Rattlers are also 2-0 at home in the series with ASU.
•   St. Mary's won the 2023 Lone Star Conference Championship, winning the title for the second-straight season. Kyndall Quiroz was named MVP after scoring the team clinching point in both the quarterfinals and the finals, while Ashley Penshorn, Stela Sifuentes and Angela Vargas were all named All-Tournament. Both Penshorn and Vargas earned their second selections in a row.
•   The Rattlers have 23 victories this year, which breaks the school record for wins in a season. The previous record of 21 was held by the 2015, 2016 and 2022 teams - and all three of those also won the conference tournament.
•   Angela Vargas sports the team's longest active winning streak in singles as she has won 14 straight, including a trio of wins against nationally-ranked foes.
•   In the ITA individual rankings, senior Ashley Penshorn is 15th in the singles rankings, while senior Angela Vargas is up to #37. Penshorn and Kyndall Quiroz dropped one spot to #10 in the doubles rankings.
•   Ashley Penshorn and Angela Vargas were named to the All-Conference First Team in singles, while Vargas was also named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. Penshorn and Kyndall Quiroz earned spots on First Team in doubles. Stela Sifuentes was named to the Second Team in singles and she and Gabi Ioannou earned honorable mention All-Conference in doubles.
•   St. Mary's climbed four more spots in the ITA team rankings to #16. A week ago, the team was #20 after being #21 two weeks ago.
•   Ashley Penshorn is now the all-time leader in career singles dual wins at St. Marys with 78, breaking the record of Cristina Lopez from 2012-16. Penshorn broke the record with her exciting come-from-behind three-set win in the championship match of the LSC Tournament finals.
