CANYON, Texas – An uncharacteristic 16 turnovers by the St. Mary's Men's Basketball team helped contribute to an 85-67 loss at West Texas A&M on Thursday evening.

The Buffaloes (19-6, 17-2 Lone Star) took advantage of the Rattlers (14-10, 11-8 Lone Star) miscues, scoring 21 points off turnovers en route to tying for the highest points allowed in league games this year by the StMU defense.

 A quartet of Rattlers hit double digits in scoring as senior
Ryan Leonard (Kerry, Ireland) led with 13, seniors
Mamady Djikine (Paris, France) and
Caleb Jordan (Midlothian, Texas) each scored 12 and junior
Tyler Caron (Longview, Texas) contributed 11.

Emmanuel Ewuzie (San Antonio) led all players with 11 rebounds and added three blocked shots, putting him over the century mark for his career. His 102 swats are 10 away from the all-time mark of 112 by Kevin Kotzur (2010-13). Ewuzie also led the team with four assists.

Larry Wise scored a game-high 21 points for the Buffs, while both Julius Brown and Damion Thornton had seven rebounds each.

The Rattlers continue the three-game road stretch at Lubbock Christian on Saturday at approximately 3 p.m. The Chaps dominated St. Edward's on Thursday, 82-57.
