SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's Men's Tennis team hasn't allowed an opponent to score a single point through two matches this spring, defeating Jacksonville College 7-0 on Friday evening amidst windy conditions at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium.
"It was good to get everyone a match today at home with a nice sized crowd," said Director of Tennis
Bill Macom. "The guys had good energy and I got to see some thingns that I didn't pick up on in our practices."

In doubles action
Jake Faryniarz (San Antonio) and
Nicolas Llosa (Lima, Peru) gave the Rattlers an early leg up, winning 6-2 at No. 2 doubles and the third-ladder team of
Sebastian Azcui (La Paz, Bolivia) and
Bernhard Hauer (Vienna, Austria) won 6-3 for the first team point.

The Spanish tandem of
Daniel Matheu Baldor (Madrid) and
Alvaro Soler (Alicante) completed the doubles sweep by winning the final two games for the 6-4 win.

Baldor shut out Edoardo Brustia 6-0 in the first set and was up 2-1 when Brustia unfortunately had to retire. Soler dropped one game in the first set for his only game loss of the day in a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.

At #6 singles, Llosa pitched the shutout for the team's clinching fourth point, 6-0, 6-0. Junior
Ryan Koth (New Braunfels, Texas) collected the fifth point with his 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 4.

In his first match with the Rattlers
Aaron Ben Anton (Remseck, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany) posted a straight-set victory at #5, 6-3, 6-1 and junior
Oskar Irdoja (Tallinn, Estonia) dropped his first set 6-4 but fought back to win set two 6-1 and the third set 10-4 in the international tiebreaker.

The Rattlers don't get much of a rest as they host Our Lady of the Lake on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
