Women's Soccer Works Scoreless Draw at TWU

DENTON, Texas – Tying her season-high with six saves, St. Mary's University junior goalkeeper Rebecca Difronzo helped keep the dangerous Texas Woman's team off the scoreboard on Saturday afternoon, working a scoreless draw.

Both teams are tied 4-1-1 in the Lone Star Conference standings, while overall the Rattlers are 5-2-5 and the Pioneers are 9-1-2.

Difronzo also made six saves at Lubbock Christian on Sept. 23, while her career high is 19 at West Texas A&M from 2021.

St. Mary's recorded four shots on goal with two of the shots coming off the foot of freshman Malia Dominguez (Helotes, Texas).

Statistics were incredibly close across the board as there was only one shot separating the two teams (14 TWU, 13 StMU), one corner (4 TWU, 3 StMU) and two fouls (9 TWU, 11 StMU).

The Rattlers have a week before they host Eastern New Mexico on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 1 p.m. The Greyhounds fell 3-0 at Angelo State on Saturday.
