Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Nets Another Draw

TYLER, Texas — Each time the UT Tyler Men's Soccer team scored, the St. Mary's University team had an answer, tying 2-2 on Wednesday evening.

All four goals in the match were scored in the first half, including two in the final four minutes, as the Rattlers move to 7-3-6 on the year and 1-1-5 in Lone Star Conference action. The Patriots are now 4-3-7 and 0-2-4 in league play. It is the third-straight draw for the Gold and Blue and the fourth in the last five matches.

"This was a disappointing night for us," said Head Coach Johnny Clifford. "We played good football but made some mistakes which ultimately cost us the win. We are frustrated by the result but look forward to a huge game on Saturday for Senior Night!"

The Rattlers' goals were both scored by defenders off corner kicks as sophomore Luke Mulkey (Parker, Texas) headed in a corner from senior Lewis Nohar (Cumnock, Scotland) in the 27th minute to knot the score.

The Patriots took the lead in the 42nd minute, but it was short-lived as the Rattlers took a corner kick in the final minute of the half. Nohar located senior Gero Wolters (Niederkruchten, Germany) in the box to tie the score for the final time.

StMU played an extremely clean game, getting whistled for only two fouls the entire night and both were in the second half. It is the second time this season the Rattlers have gone an entire half without committing a foul.

The Rattlers return home for the final time in the regular season, hosting Texas A&M International on Saturday at 8 p.m. for Senior Night. The team closes out the regular season at #2 Midwestern State on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m.
