Opening Tip

•    St. Mary's hosts rematches with UT Tyler and Texas Woman's on Thursday and Saturday after the game with St. Edward's originally scheduled for Tuesday was postponed until Feb. 21.

•    The first game against UT Tyler is one of the six one-possession games the Rattlers have been involved in during Lone Star action. Gabby Elliott led the team with 17 points while she and Natalia Ryng each had six rebounds. Ariah Powell hit a three-pointer with three seconds left to pull within two but missed on a 3/4 court shot at the buzzer after the Patriots missed both free throws.

•    Head Coach Valerie Huizar moved Ariah Powell into the starting lineup on Thursday, creating her sixth different starting five of the year.

•    Gabby Elliott has scored at least 10 points in each of the last 11 games, the longest double figure scoring streak on the team this season. A season ago, Hannah Wilson scored in double figures in the first 14 contests.

•    Senior Briley Perkins climbed two spots into eighth in St. Mary's history with 126 three-pointers. She passed both Soteria Banks (125) and Chastity Noble (124) over the weekend. Juanita Merchant (2004-08) is in seventh with 141 triples.

•    Consistency is key with junior Teanna Huggins. The guard has scored at least six points in each of the last five games, shooting 63 percent from the floor and 89 percent from the free throw line during the stretch. She's also averaging 2.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals.

•    Faith Phillips needs three more points for 300 in her career after tying her career-high with two three-pointers on Saturday. The sophomore is also four rebounds shy of 250 and has had five or more rebounds in a game 10 times this season.

•    In the two games last week, the Rattlers recorded assists on 74.2 percent of their shots, collecting 26 assists on 35 made buckets. StMU was averaging 51.5 percent entering last week.
