Women's Hoops Hopes to Snap Streak on Road Trip

Opening Tip

•    St. Mary's plays its third and fourth-straight games on the road, facing UAFS on Thursday and Oklahoma Christian. Both teams are one spot ahead of the Rattlers in the standings with two conference wins.

•    The Rattlers currently rank third in the Lone Star Conference with 14.1 offensive rebounds per game. StMU has had double digits in offensive rebounds in 12 of the 14 games.

•    Gabby Elliott climbed 10 spots and now ranks 12th in the Lone Star Conference in points per game during conference play with 12.9, which is the second-highest mark for a freshman, trailing only Midwestern State's Dyamon Griggs (14.4). Elliott has scored at least 15 in each of the last five games.

•    For the first time all season, the Rattlers held a team without any second chance points, limiting UT Tyler to five offensive rebounds

•    The game Saturday at UT Tyler was the fifth Lone Star Conference game to be decided by one possession for the Rattlers. 

•    Senior Briley Perkins made two three-pointers against UT Tyler, giving her 120 in her career. She needs two more to appear on the St. Mary's career charts. Jackie Woods (2011-14) currently sits in 10th with 122 makes.

•    As a freshman, redshirt junior Bella Hughes tied a then-school record with six three-pointers against Oklahoma Christian. She scored 21 points in the game. Hughes missed the next season and was just returning to action a season ago, hitting another triple against the Eagles to give her seven in 29 minutes.

•    Gabby Elliott became the first freshman since Briley Perkins in 2019-20 to score in double figures in five-straight games Elliott is averaging 16.4 points and 7.0 rebounds over the last five. Perkins averaged 17.2 points and 2.8 rebounds during her five-game stretch.
