SAN ANTONIO – Improving every set, the St. Mary's Volleyball Team was unable to overcome the #18 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs on Saturday afternoon, falling 25-12, 25-18, 25-21.

The Rattlers (6-9, 2-2 Lone Star Conference) not only improved in points scored, but also in hitting and sideout percentages each set. For the first time this season, junior
Brianna Morris-Worth (Yukon, Okla.) led the team in kills with eight.

Cali Nims (Corpus Christi, Texas) narrowly missed her fifth double-double of the year, tying for match-high honors with 16 assists and adding nine digs. Freshman
Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas) led the squad with 10 digs, also tying for match-high honors.

The Lady Buffs (11-4, 4-0) were led by Torrey Miller and Taytum Snow with nine kills each.

Each team had three blocks on the day, with Morris-Worth and freshman
Dallasstar Johnson (San Antonio) each having a pair. Sophomore
Alicia Virthe (Orlando, Fla.) was efficient in her few attacks, recording four kills on seven swings in one set of action.

The Rattlers head back out on the road, playing at Eastern New Mexico on Friday, Sept. 30 and at Lubbock Christian on Saturday at 1 p.m.
