WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Four goals by four different players helped lift the St. Mary's Women's Soccer Team to a 4-3 win at Midwestern State on Saturday afternoon.

In the ninth minute, freshman
Shelby Paniagua (Cibolo, Texas) took a corner kick. Senior
Juni Ejere (Weatherford, Texas) intercepted the ball which MSU was trying to clear away from the box, fed Paniagua who had snuck in to the corner of the penalty box and blasted the goal off the crossbar and in. Less than a minute before halftime, the Mustangs (3-3, 1-1 LSC) knotted the score.

Senior
Tori Permillion (Plano, Texas) scored from about 10 yards out, lofting the goal over the leaping keeper less than two minutes into the second half for the 2-1 Rattlers (7-1, 1-1 LSC) lead. Nine minutes later, the Mustangs again answered to knot the score at 2-2.

In the 64th minute, Ejere scored into the lower left corner of the goal from the right side as she drove past a few defenders on a pass by freshman
Valerie Hover (McKinney, Texas). It is the eighth goal of the year for Ejere, as she is tied for second in the Lone Star in goals and second with 19 points.

Senior
Megan Copeland (San Antonio) scored on a free kick after a yellow card in the 72nd minute, drilling the ball into the lower left corner of the net from the right wing for the game winner. It is Copeland's third game-winning goal of the year and the sixth of her career.

The Rattlers remain on the road, playing at Angelo State on Wed., Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. StMU is home against Texas Woman's at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 as part of a triple header on campus as volleyball plays at 2 p.m. and men's soccer plays at 7 p.m.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER & TEAM NOTES
- Senior Megan Copeland scored her third game-winning goal of the year, scoring the fourth goal for the Rattlers off a free kick after a yellow card was called on MSU.
- Freshman Valerie Hover recorded her first career collegiate assist, finding Juni Ejere for the team's third goal.
- Juni Ejere added a goal and an assist on Saturday, bringing her total to 19 points in 2022. She has eight goals and three assists and is second in the Lone Star Conference in points.
- Megan Copeland, Rebecca Difronzo (GK) and Jackie Miller (D) all played all 90 minutes of the game.
- The win for the Rattlers is just the second in Wichita Falls. The team is now 2-3-2 all-time at MSU.
