CANYON, Texas – The St. Mary's Volleyball Team dropped a pair of matches in South Central Regional action on Saturday, falling in four sets to 14th-ranked West Texas A&M (25-16, 22-25, 25-9, 25-22) and straight sets to Adams State (25-18, 25-23, 25-17).

Lindsey Ogle (Houston) led the Rattlers (0-4) in kills in both matches, posting nine against West Texas A&M and seven against Adams State. Freshman
Laurene Robinson (Bedford, Texas) tied for team-high honors with nine kills in the WT match.

In addition to 22 assists on the day, sophomore setter
Cali Nims (Corpus Christi, Texas) tallied four service aces and led the team with nine digs against ASU, while freshman middle blocker
Dallasstar Johnson (San Antonio) chipped in three aces. Johnson also led the Rattlers with five blocks, tallying three against the Grizzlies.Â

Against the Grizzlies, the Rattlers served twice as many aces as they had errors, posting eight aces with only four miscues. The eight aces is the most this season and the team has recorded five or more in each of the last three matches.

The Rattlers remain on the road, playing in the UCO/OC Classic for four matches all in Edmond, Okla. The team opens the weekend against host Central Oklahoma at 11 a.m. on Friday.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER & TEAM NOTES
- Both of the Rattlers set wins this season happened in the second set, while a third one was the minimum two-point decision (25-23 vs ASU).
- Sophomore setter Cali Nims has tallied at least one ace in all four matches this season. She posted at least one in five of the last six matches of 2021, recording 16 aces in those five and she now has 35 for her career.
- StMU has played five sets decided by three points or less in its 14 sets this season.
- Freshman libero Alyssa Koehl notched 40 receptions on Saturday without an error. The first-year Rattler now has 79 receptions with only two miscues. For her efforts in the tournamennt, Koehl was named to the All-Tournament team.
