SAN ANTONIO – Twenty student-athletes from the St. Mary's Men's and Women's Tennis Teams were Tuesday named ITA Scholar-Athletes and both teams were awarded All-Academic Team honors by the Association.

This season marks the 11th consecutive year both teams have earned the All-Academic Team award, which is awarded to teams with a 3.2 combined team grade point average or above.

To earn Scholar Athlete honors by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, a student-athlete must possess a 3.5 GPA or better for the current academic year.

"Our staff is very proud of the hard work everyone puts in on and off the court," Director of Tennis
Bill Macom said. "It's nice to not have to be too concerned about their grades as they all are very good with time management."

This is the fourth consecutive award for
Ashley Penshorn and
Alice Thane, the third for
Maria Garcia,
Gabi Ioannou and
Marina Vigil and the second for
Sebastian Azcui,
Jake Faryniarz,
Bailey Godwin,
Nicolas Llosa and
Elena Munoz.
