• St. Mary's heads on its first Lone Star Conference road trip, playing at UT Permian Basin on Thursday and Western New Mexico on Saturday. Both teams are searching for their first Lone Star wins for the season. The time for the WNMU match has been altered to 12:30 p.m. Central/11:30 a.m. Mountain.
• The Rattlers are 9-0 all-time against UT Permian Basin and sport a 5-0 record against Western New Mexico. A season ago, the Gold & Blue won 7-0 and 6-1, respectively.
• St. Mary's is now 2-2 this season against nationally-ranked teams after dropping a 5-2 match against fifth-ranked Cameron. The team have wins over #29 Angelo State (4-3) and #45 Florida Southern (5-2).
• St. Mary's joined the national rankings last week at #47. The team is 11-3 in 2022 with a 3-1 mark in conference action.
• The Rattlers moved to 11-3 all-time in Lone Star Conference play with the split with UAFS and Cameron last week.
• Senior Ashley Penshorn was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Week after she lost only two points in the two singles matches over Angelo State and Texas A&M Kingsville. It is the first weekly award for the senior and the second for the Rattlers this season as freshman Callah Preti won in the opening week.
• In the latest national rankings (March 31), the Rattlers have three ranked amongst the top 50 in #15 Ashley Penshorn, #23 Maria Garcia and #62 Marina Vigil.
• The St. Mary's team is looking to advance to its ninth-straight NCAA Regional appearance this season. The team has made the post-season every year since 2012-13, except for 2019-20 when the season was cut short.
• The next singles victory for senior Ashley Penshorn will be the 20th of the season and with two more, she'll tie for second on the StMU career charts with 70. The St. Mary's single season record for wins is 24 by Mariana Rong in 2014-15.
