• St. Mary's can clinch a share of the Lone Star Conference regular season title with a win at UT Tyler on Saturday. The Rattlers are 7-1 in conference, and a victory would tie them with Cameron - and possibly Angelo State at 8-1.
• Senior Ashley Penshorn is one singles win shy of breaking the St. Mary's single-season record for wins in a season. Penshorn is currently tied with Mariana Rong (2014-15) with 24 victories.
• The Rattler jumped 23 spots in the ITA Rankings this week to #23. Senior Ashley Penshorn is ranked 29th and senior Maria Garcia is 41st.
• The Rattlers are 1-1 all-time against UT Tyler. A season ago, the Gold & Blue swept the Patriots, 7-0 on March 27.
• St. Mary's is now 4-2 this season against nationally-ranked teams after defeating both #28 Midwestern State and #69 DBU by identical scores of 6-1.
• The Rattlers moved to 15-3 all-time in Lone Star Conference play with the two wins over MSU and DBU last week.
• Senior Ashley Penshorn was named the Lone Star Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season after StMU defeated the pair of nationally-ranked teams. It is the third award for the Rattlers this season as freshman Callah Preti won in the opening week.
• Junior Angela Vargas, senior Ashley Penshorn and sophomore Elena Munoz have all won five singles matches in a row. Vargas and Penshorn are both 7-1 in Lone Star Conference play this season, while Munoz is 4-1. Vargas is also 4-1 in conference doubles action and 7-2 this spring.
• The St. Mary's team is looking to advance to its ninth-straight NCAA Regional appearance this season. The team has made the post-season every year since 2012-13, except for 2019-20 when the season was cut short.
