KINGSVILLE, Texas – The streak was snapped at seven for the St. Mary's Men's Basketball team as they lost their first game in a month, falling 74-55 at Texas A&M Kingsville on Saturday afternoon after playing their fifth game in eight days.

Mamady Djikine (Paris, France) and
Kobe Magee (San Antonio) each scored 10 as the Rattlers move to 7-2 in Lone Star Conference play and 10-8 overall. Senior guard
Caleb Jordan (Midlothian, Texas) and sophomore forward
Tyler Caron (Longview, Texas) tied for the team lead with five rebounds each and Jordan dished out a team-high three assists.

The Rattlers struggled from the floor, shooting just 29 percent for the game and 17 percent from beyond the arc. The team continued to shoot well from the free throw line, making 23 of 28 attempts for 82 percent. Caron, Djikine and junior
Ryan Leonard (Kerry, Ireland) all were 4-for-4 from the charity stripe, while Jordan was 6-for-8 and senior
Parker Gettys (New Braunfels, Texas) was 3-for-4.

Tre Flowers led all scorers for the Javelinas (11-7, 2-5 LSC) with 14, while C.J. Smith added 13 as TAMUK shot 45 percent for the game, 37 percent from the arc and they were 4-for-8 at the free throw stripe.

Despite playing five games in eight days, the Rattlers don't get much recovery time, hosting Angelo State on Monday at 4 p.m. in a makeup game rescheduled from earlier in the year.
