Box Score SEGUIN, Texas – The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team continued its dominant start to the 2022 spring season, not allowing Texas Lutheran to win a single game in the nine matches for the 9-0 victory.

All three doubles teams won 8-0 for the early 3-0 lead for the Rattlers (3-0, 0-0 Lone Star Conference), while all six singles ladders won by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores for the sweep.

Ashley Penshorn (Montgomery, Texas) won at No. 1, senior
Alice Thane (Elloughton, East Yorkshire, England) was victorious at No. 2, junior
Gabi Ioannou (Melbourne, Australia) kept things going at No. 3, junior
Angela Vargas (Del Rio, Texas) swept No. 4, sophomore
Elena Munoz (Corregidora, Queretaro, Mexico) won at No. 5 and redshirt freshman
Bailey Godwin (San Antonio), playing in her first singles match of the year swept the opposition at No. 6.

Godwin and Penshorn paired at No. 1 doubles, Thane and Vargas partnered at No. 2 and Ioannou and Munoz won at No. 3 for the third sweep of the season for the Rattlers.

StMU returns to Rohrbach Tennis Stadium on the campus of St. Mary's at 3 p.m. on Friday for the postponed match against cross-town rivals, Trinity. Admission is free for all tennis matches.
