Scoreboard

The 18 members of the Rattlers volleyball team all have their hands in the air in the Rattlers symbol of Fangs out -- the first two fingers bent at the first knuckle -- as they break the huddle.

Volleyball's Win Streak Snapped at Six

LAREDO, Texas – The St. Mary's Volleyball team improved in all facets as the match went on, but it still wasn't enough to overcome the streaking Texas A&M International Dust Devils on Wednesday night, 25-12, 25-18, 25-19.

The Rattlers (12-10, 8-3 Lone Star Conference) hit better, had a better sideout percentage and scored more points in each set, but the Dust Devils won their 11th match in their last 13 outings to improve to 8-1 in conference play (17-5) and snap the Rattlers six-match winning streak.

TAMIU targeted freshman Landri Withers (Stephenville, Texas) in their service attack as she had 37 receptions of the team's 68 and she was aced only once. She also led the team with nine kills and tied for team-high honors with two blocks, along with senior Sadie Hough (Cleburne, Texas).

Freshman Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas) had a team-high 12 digs and received 14 serves without an error.

Surprisingly, StMU did not record an ace on the evening. It is the first time this season the team didn't have one.

The Rattlers don't have long to think about this match as they return home to host Oklahoma Christian on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by senior day on Saturday against UAFS at 2 p.m.
