•The St. Mary's Volleyball team is finally home after playing its first nine matches of the year on the road. The Rattlers welcome UT-Tyler on Friday for the first-ever meeting between the two teams, while Texas A&M Commerce comes to town on Saturday for the 10th match - and first since 2019 - between the sqauds.
• Freshman RS Alicia Virthe is one of only two first-year players to be ranked among the top 20 in the Lone Star Conference in hitting percentage and she's the top-ranked true freshman. Virthe ranks 19th, hitting .285 and she is also one of five right-side hitters to rank in the top 20.
•In the nine matches this season, the Rattlers are 7-5 in sets where the final score is decided by two or three points.
•The Rattlers are a perfect 2-0 in home Lone Star Conference openers. In 2019, the team swept Eastern New Mexico, while last season the Gold & Blue opened the year with a five-set home victory against Texas A&M International.
•The win at Texas Woman's on Saturday was the team's first-ever win on the road in Lone Star Conference play, snapping a 16-match losing skid. It was also the team's first three-set sweep of 2021.
