WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team had its three-match winning streak snapped on Friday as the Rattlers fell 4-3 to the Midwestern State Mustangs in Lone Star Conference action.
Midwestern State won both the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to clinch the doubles point but
Abigail Csengery and Gai Ioannou picked up a win at the No. 3 line for the Rattlers.
Marina Vigil tied the match as the senior picked up a 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. No. 25
Ashley Penshorn put the Rattlers in front as she defeated No. 34 Tiffany Hollebeck, 6-1, 7-5.
The Mustangs would go on to win the next three singles matches at No. 4, No. 2 and No. 6 to clinch the match.
Elena Munoz earned a 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (10-8) victory at No. 5 singles to make the final score 4-3 in favor of Midwestern State.
St. Mary's will play the final match of their regular season on Saturday as they take on DBU.
