SAN ANTONIO - The St. Mary's Men's Tennis team earned its sixth shutout of the season on Friday afternoon as the Rattlers defeated Western New Mexico, 7-0 at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium. The win was the third consecutive win for St. Mary's. The Rattlers improve their record to 11-3 on the season and 4-1 in Lone Star Conference action.

Saisaurav Konakanchi clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 line.
The match was originally scheduled for 9:00 a.m. but was delayed until 2:40 p.m. due to wet courts and rain in the area. The delay caused there to be two waves of singles play as the men and women played simultaneously.Â
Singles 1-4 played first and
Nicolas Llosa picked up the first singles win for St. Mary's at the No. 3 line, winning easily, 6-0, 6-0.
James Finnigan was second to finish at the No. 4 line, winning 6-2, 6-3.
Ryan Koth, playing his fourth match at No. 2 singles, earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
No. 16
Jeremiah Sanchez picked up his 13th straight singles victory of the season at the No. 1 line. Despite blowing his shoe out early in the first set, Sanchez was able to pick up the 6-4. 6-2 win.
Alex Gee and
Leon Hein completed the shutout with wins at the No. 5 and 6 lines, respectively.Â
St. Mary's will close out the regular season next week as they travel to Midwestern State and DBU.Â
