Men's Soccer Scores Twice in Final Three Minutes to Sneak Past Lubbock Christian

LUBBOCK, Texas – Two goals in the final three minutes of the match lifted the No. 16 St. Mary's Men's Soccer team to a 3-2 victory over Lubbock Christian. The Rattlers improve to 5-1-0 on the season with a 4-1-0 mark in Lone Star Conference action. 
 
Alonso Rodriguez scored in the 10th minute off an assist from Deni Cresto and Liam Morrison to give the Rattlers a 1-0 lead. 
 
Lubbock Christian scored two goals within two minutes of each other in the first half to gain a 2-1 edge over the Rattlers heading into halftime. 
 
St. Mary's had a great scoring opportunity in the 53rd minute when Alain Peralt fired a shot off a Rattlers corner kick but the Chap keeper made the save. 
 
The Rattlers had another shot on goal in the 64th minute by Tony Andoyan but came up empty. 
 
Andoyan finally found the equalizer in the 87th minute off an assist from Max De Leon and Cresto. 
 
Rodriguez scored his second goal of the match with 34 seconds left to play as Cresto served a corner kick into the box and Rodriguez went up and headed it past the Chaparral keeper to give St. Mary's their second and final lead of the night. 

Cresto assisted on all three goals in the match.
 
St. Mary's will return to action next Tuesday as they host UT Tyler at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
