Women's Soccer Explodes for 12 Goals in Win Over Bulldogs

SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's Women's Soccer team exploded for 12 goals this afternoon to defeat Texas Lutheran in a non-conference tilt at Sigma Bet Chi Field. The 12 goals is the most since the 2004 season when the Rattlers netted a program record 22 goals against Texas Southern.
 
St. Mary's fired 43 shots at the Bulldog defense, 22 of which were on frame. The Rattlers keepers did not see a shot on goal in the contest. 
 
Kylie Von Holle started things in the seventh minute of the game to make it a 1-0 contest early. 
 
Alexis Lawrence got her first start of the year and made the most of it. Lawrence made it a 2-0 game in the 19th minute with her first goal of the game and of the year. Lawrence went on to score three more goals, giving her four on the day. 
 
Von Holle added another goal, her second of the match when the junior converted a penalty kick. Von Holle added another goal in the 52nd minute to give her the hat trick on the day. 
 
Micah Williams got in on the action in just her second game of the year. Williams scored off a Maggie Wirebaugh pass to make it 5-0 in the 35th minute. Williams recorded an assist and score two more goals, giving the seven points in the win. 
 
Leading 7-0 coming out of halftime, Serena Frank netted her second goal of the season to make it 8-0, Rattlers. 
 
In the 73rd minute, Barbara Smith scored the first goal of her career to make it 12-0. 
 
Alessandra Rivera and Miranda Narvaez each recorded an assist in the win.  
 
St. Mary's will play their final home match of the season on Wednesday as they host Angelo State University at Sigma Beta Chi Field. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
