Cresto and Wilson Net Goals in 2-0 Men's Soccer Victory

OKLAHOMA CITY – The St. Mary's Men's Soccer team returned to its winning ways on Saturday as the Rattlers scored an early goal in each half to cruise to a 2-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian. St. Mary's moves to 3-1 on the season with the win. 
 
Just 12 minutes into the contest, Deni Cresto converted a penalty kick to put St. Mary's up 1-0. 
 
In the final 26 minutes of the first half, the Rattlers had three scoring opportunities but Oklahoma Christian keeper, Anthony Trabichet kept the Eagles in the game, making all three saves. 
 
In the first half, St. Mary's keeper, Andre Schlaefli saw just one shot on goal. 
 
Cresto added an assist to his stat line early in the second half as he assisted on a goal by Lewis Wilson in the 50th minute to put St. Mary's ahead, 2-0. Cresto and Wilson are tied with a team-high three points on the season. 
 
Schlaefli recorded his second clean sheet of the season to move to 2-1. The freshman has allowed one goal in five tries for an .800 save percentage. 
 
Alonso Rodriguez and Cian Foley each finished with two shots on goal. The Rattlers won the shots on goal battle, 7-2. 
 
The Rattlers will return to the pitch on Tuesday as they host Lone Star Conference for, Midwestern State at Sigma Beta Chi Field. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
