Olsen and Frank Score as Women's Soccer Defeats Dustdevils

SAN ANTONIO – Two goals in the first 20 minutes of action led the St. Mary's Women's Soccer team to their first win of the season. The Rattlers defeated Texas A&M International 2-0 in a non-conference matchup at Sigma Beta Chi Field.

The win marks the first for first-year head coach, Kevin Driggs.

It took just 41 seconds for St. Mary's to take a 1-0 lead. Two straight St. Mary's shots on goal were blocked but not controlled by the Dustdevil keeper. Olsen took the final ricochet and buried in the back of the goal for her first goal of the year and the fourth of her career.

In the 19th minute, Serena Frank took a pass played in from Miranda Narvaez and buried it in the lower left corner of the goal to put St. Mary's up 2-0.

St. Mary's goalkeeper Cameron Koerner recorded the second clean sheet of her career as the junior recorded six saves in the win.

The Rattlers will return to the pitch on Saturday as they travel to UT Permian Basin. The match is set to kickoff at 11:00 a.m.
