EDMOND, Okla. — St. Mary's Softball got strong performances from reigning Lone Star Conference Hitter of the Week

Amber Gonzales to win 11-8 against Central Oklahoma and finish 3-2 at the Edmond Regional Festival.
Johns went two-for-two at bat and had three runs to lead StMU. Eight Rattlers scored as the team book ended the game with three runs each in first and eighth innings. The Bronchos started off hot as well, getting in four runs in the first inning to lead after one. StMU followed up a strong first inning with two runs in the second to retake a 5-4 lead. The Rattlers maintained the lead for the majority of the game, but the Bronchos brought in three runs in the seventh inning to tie the game up at eight.
Gonzales then hit her first home run of the season in the final inning to score

Abigale Carney and herself to take an 11-8 lead. The Rattlers were able to shut out the Bronchos in the bottom of the eighth inning to hold onto the lead and cap off their final road tournament with a win.
StMU returns to San Antonio for its home opener on Friday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. at the Softball Stadium at St. Mary's to face Texas A&M Kingsville in a doubleheader.
