STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The St. Mary's University Men's Basketball team saw its three-game winning streak come to an end on Thursday night as the Rattlers fell to Tarleton State, 92-66. After heading into halftime tied at 43, the Rattlers were outscored 49-23 in the final 20 minutes to fall to 12-14, 8-12 Lone Star Conference.

Three St. Mary's players scored in double figures led by senior Markques Houston (Houston) who netted 19 points. Sophomore Caleb Jordan (Midlothian, Texas) added 18 points while Kobe Magee (San Antonio) chipped in with 13 in the loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jordan put the Rattlers on the scoreboard first as he knocked down his first triple of the night on St. Mary's first possession of the contest. The first half was a back-and-forth affair as neither team led by more than six points. Houston scored the final eight points of the opening half for the Rattlers but the Texans converted a basket with seven seconds left to even the game at 43 heading into the intermission. The half featured 13 lead changes.

St. Mary's hung around for the first seven minutes of the final frame. The Rattlers trailed by seven points with 12:30 left to play but a back-breaking 14-0 run from Tarleton was the difference.

The Rattlers won the battle on the offensive glass as they outrebounded the Texans, 12-5. St. Mary's shot 38 percent from the field and converted all 10 free throw attempts.
