Men's Tennis conquers UAFS, 4-1

Arlington, Texas – St. Mary's Men's Tennis had a successful start to its Friday competition after defeating the Arkansas Fort Smith Lions 4-1 at the Arlington Tennis Center. 

The Rattlers started off strong in the doubles taking the point early. The sophomore duo at No. 3 Alex Gee and Sai Konakanchi dominated their opponents Delmonico and Andersen, winning 6-2. At the No. 2 position, Brendan Brown and Jose Antelo clinched the doubles point comfortably, also winning 6-2 giving them a 1-0 lead over the Lions.

The men continued their strong lead in singles play with senior Jose Antelo quickly coming off the court, defeating his opponent 6-0 6-0 against Andersen, giving away no games. The high energy in singles filtered through to the top court of Jeremiah Gonzalez, sweeping his opposition 6-2 6-2. At the No. 6 spot, Brendan Brown clinched for the Blue and Gold in a close match, winning 6-3, 7-5.
