SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team continued to display quality performances against Wisconsin-EAU Claire at Anne-Marie Tennis Center on Friday. The Rattlers won the doubles point over the Blugolds, winning on all three doubles courts.
First off of the court was Rani Goodland and doubles partner Isabelle Bergman. The duo at the No.2 position swept their opponents 6-1. The first point of the day came down to No. 3 doubles, Hannah Petersen and Ashley Penshorn winning the match 6-4 over their opponents. On the top court senior duo Ally Maciel and Alex Corder played a close match and pulled through with a score of 6-4.
In singles action, St. Mary's quickly took a 3-0 edge over Wisconsin-EAU Claire. Corder won in straight sets on the No. 2 court sweeping her opponent 6-1, 6-1. Bergman was second off the single court, beating her opponent 6-1 6-0 at the No. 6 singles.
Freshman Ashley Penshorn clinched for the Lady Rattlers at the No. 5 position, dominating Linsdey Henderson 6-3 6-3 to give the Rattlers a 4-0 lead. Following this win, courts 1,3 and 4 swept their opponents in straight sets to give St. Mary's a 7-0 sweep.
