Women's Tennis nabs victory over Warhawks

SAN ANTONIO — Momentum stayed on the side of the net for St. Mary's Women's Tennis on Monday afternoon, as the Rattlers continued to collect individual and team wins by handling Auburn-Montgomery, 6-1, at Annemarie Tennis Center. The victory is the third straight for the Rattlers overall.

"I'm very happy with the win today," head coach Lisa Dausin said. "We took care of business against a tough opponent today. We handled the conditions well and will take a lot of confidence going forward."

The Rattlers took care of business in doubles, securing the doubles point with senior duo Ally Maciel/Alex Corder winning 6-4 at the No. 1 position. Freshman/senior duo Ashley Penshorn/Hannah Petersen won 6-4, clinching the doubles point for the Rattlers.

First off of the court was senior Ally Maciel, sweeping her opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. Freshman Ashley Penshorn got the clinch for the St. Mary's Women's Tennis team in a three-set battle, winning 6-0, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (3).
