Women's Tennis defeats Southeastern Oklahoma State

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team had a strong win at John Newcombe Country Club on Friday with a 6-1 win against Southeastern Oklahoma State.

Ally Maciel paired up with teammate Alex Corder for a 6-0 win on the top court over the Savage Storm's Diana Budnik and India Shiaelis. After that, the No. 3 duo of Hannah Petersen and Ashley Penshorn clinched the doubles point for the Rattlers with their 6-0 take down over Rachel Routledge and Nina Sergeev.

StMU continued its success in singles action by dominating on five of the six courts. The Rattlers defeated their respective opponents all in straight sets, except for senior Petersen battling out the match in a three-set thriller, winning the third set 6-3 to clinch for the Rattlers.
