Tarleton State gets best of Women's Tennis in regional showdown

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team fell 5-2 to Tarleton State at the Newcombe Country Club on Saturday. 
 
In doubles play, senior/junior duo Rani Goodland/Bella Berman secured a 6-3 win over Nathalie Ulander and Faustine Palatte, but it was not enough for the Rattlers to clinch the doubles point over the Texans. 
 
The Rattlers earned their two points in singles play with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions. Senior Ally Maciel swept Alicia Barbaroux at the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-1. At the No. 3 spot, Goodland defeated Sherine Salem in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. 
 
Up Next:
The Rattlers will travel to Odessa, TX. to take on Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday, Feb. 22 at 9:00 a.m. and Texas-Permian Basin at 2:00 p.m. On Saturday Feb. 23 they will take on Western New Mexico 9:00 a.m.
