Gabby Olsen Scores as Women's Soccer Falls to Dustdevils

SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's University Women's Soccer team dropped its third consecutive match on Thursday night as they fell 3-1 at the hands of Texas A&M International in Lone Star Conference action.

The Rattlers fall to 2-6 on the year and 0-3 in LSC action while the Dustdevils improve to 2-4-1 and 1-1-1 in conference action.

The score was not indicative of how close the match was as the shot difference was just four, in favor of the Dustdevils. The Rattlers won the shots-on-goal battle as they put six on frame while Texas A&M International placed five on net.

Micah Williams sent a cross in from the right side and found Gabby Olsen who buried it in the back of the net for the lone Rattlers goal in the 40th minute for the equalizer.

A goal from TAMIU in the 59th minute proved to be the game-winner but the Dustdevils tacked on another goal in the 88th minute to seal the 3-1 victory over St. Mary's.

Williams was named the Pizza Patron Player of the Game.

The Rattlers will have a week's rest before they host Midwestern State University at Sigma Beta Chi Field next Thursday.
