SAN ANTONIO – It took 91 minutes for the match to be decided and it was the St. Mary's University Women's Soccer team who came out on top with a 1-0 victory over Midwestern State University at Sigma Beta Chi Field on Thursday night.
Leah Whitaker was the hero for the Rattlers on Thursday night as she scored the game-winning goal in the 91st minute of the match to snap the Rattlers' three-game skid.
St. Mary's took 14 shots and put six on frame against the Mustangs.
Alexia Maldonado and
Megan Copeland each took two shots while
Tori Permillion took a team0high three shots putting two of them on goal.
The Rattlers move to 3-6 on the year and get their first Lone Star Conference win.
St. Mary's will be back in action on Saturday as they host Oklahoma Christian at 1 p.m. at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
