Offensive Outburst Leads Women's Soccer to Win Over Eagles

SAN ANTONIO – The St. Mary's University Women's Soccer team won their second straight match on Saturday afternoon, defeating Oklahoma Christian, 4-1 in Lone Star Conference action. 
 
The Rattlers attack was active against the Eagles as they got off a season-high 20 shots, 10 of which were on frame. In the opening half of the game, St. Mary's fired 13 shots and continued to put pressure on the Oklahoma Christian goalkeeper.
 
Alexia Maldonado started the scoring for St. Mary's in the fifth minute, taking a Tori Permillion cross from the right side of the field and buried it in the back of the goal to put the Rattlers up 1-0. 
 
Serena Frank tallied her third goal of the season in the 29th minute on an assist from Lauren Mlouhi
 
St. Mary's led the Eagles 2-0 at halftime.
 
Just two minutes into the second half, Mlouhi put the Rattlers up 3-0 with her first goal of the season. 
 
The Eagles spoiled the shutout in the 55' when Carson Hazel cleaned up a rebound that ricocheted off the post to make it a 3-1 contest with 25 minutes left to play. 
 
Permillion added a goal in the 75' minute on the assist from Mlouhi, her second of the match, to put the match out of reach. 
 
St. Mary's is 9-1 in their last 10 matches against Oklahoma Christian and have won the last three meetings. 
 
The Rattlers will return to action on Thursday as they travel to Lubbock, Texas to take on Lubbock Christian.
