Volleyball splits final day of Lubbock Christian Chap Classic

LUBBOCK, Texas — The last day of the Lubbock Christian Chap Classic saw St. Mary's Volleyball split a pair of matches.
 
St. Mary's defeated Arkansas-Monticello in the opening match of the day in a thrilling five-set victory.
 
Dropping the opening game 25-21, the Rattlers bounced back, taking each of the next two games 25-16 and 25-19.
 
In the decisive fifth game, the Rattlers opened with a 6-1 run, taking the game, 15-6, and the match.
 
Led by 17 kills from Alissa Tolbert, 40 assists from Bree Perry and 19 digs from Monica Ramon, the Rattlers picked up their fourth victory of the season.
 
Against Washburn, the Rattlers fell in straight sets despite a match-high 12 kills from Channing Hankins.
 
Perry added 19 assists as Mackenzie Harless and Rachel McDonald each produced three blocks.
 
Next for the Rattlers will be a trip to Dallas for three matches against conference opponents beginning on Thursday when they visit DBU.
