DALLAS — Taking the opening set on the road against DBU wasn't enough for St. Mary's Volleyball as the Rattlers fell 3-1 in the first match of an All-Heartland Conference showcase.

Alissa Tolbert led the offense with 14 kills, adding a pair of services aces, and 17 digs. Bree Perry posted 30 assists in addition to 17 digs.

An epic opening set ended with the Rattlers winning 27-25 following a pair of attack errors by DBU.

The Patriots would outscore the Rattlers 75-52 through the final three sets to improve to 6-5 on the season.

As for the Rattlers, they fall to 4-5 heading into Friday's matchup against St. Edward's.

The neutral site match is set for a 4:30 p.m. start time at the Advantage Sports Complex in Dallas.
