@StMUvolleyball grinds past Saints in home opener

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Volleyball returned home for the first home match of 2018, defeating Our Lady of the Lake 3-1 in the All-San Antonio affair.
 
Led by sophomore MacKenzie Harless, who posted a .500 hitting percentage and 10 kills, the Rattlers improved to 3-2 on the season. 
 
However, the victory wouldn't come easily as the Rattlers fought off seven-straight set points in the opening frame.
 
Channing Hankins led the Rattlers with 12 kills while Bree Perry logged 33 assists and 21 digs. At the net Harless, Rachel McDonald and Jaycie Pluenneke dominated, combining for 25 total blocks.
 
The Rattlers will head to the road for their next nine matches before returning home for the start of conference play against Texas A&M International on Sept. 24.
